Toby Virgo is a writer of historical fiction who lives on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. He published his first novel, 'Carter, the Cabman' in 2021 and since then has published several short stories all featuring the adventures of Jeremiah Carter, a hansom cab driver working at night on the streets of Victorian London. Also founder of The Real Sherlock Holmes Walking Tour of Edinburgh, Toby had a particular interest in the social history of the Victorian era partly inspired by his own family history. His most recent story, 'The Dead Who Bury Us', deals with the Victorians' strange obsession with death.
